From UCPG (planning group) chair Chris Nielsen: I have attached the agenda for the UCPG meeting on March 11, 2025, at 6PM in person and on zoom. This will be a hybrid meeting, in person and on Zoom. - Item 8: Action Item. PRJ-1114437, Alexandria Campus Point Project. Alexandria proposes to redevelop some of its 100-acre Campus Point project. This proposal does not include any construction per se but does include several discretionary permits that would allow future redevelopment under the new University Community Plan (see agenda item #8 for details). The UCPG is asked to recommend approval for the discretionary permits. The discussion of this item was begun at our February UCPG meeting.
- Item 9: Information Item. PRJ-1086203, Public Project Sorrento Mesa Double Track Phase 2. This project is being led by SANDAG and proposes to double-track a 2-mile segment of the rail corridor between Sorrento and Miramar, located in the LOSSAN Rail Corridor between the I-805 freeway overpass in Sorrento Valley south to Miramar Road. Further detail is in the agenda. The project does affect the MHPA / MSCP land adjacent to the tracks and involves an exchange of some MSCP land between the city and the LOSSAN rail corridor owner, the North County Transit District. The UCPG is expected to give feedback on the project. An Action Item for this project will be at a future meeting.
