Share

University City Community Association (UCCA) will host an in-person general public meeting on Wednesday, March 13, at the University Community Library at 4155 Governor Drive. Meet & greet begins at 5:15pm and the UCCA meeting will begin promptly at 5:30pm.

This meeting begins 30 minutes earlier than in previous years. UCCA wants to respect our librarians time; we plan to finish up by 7:30 at the latest, as we run our meetings outside of the the library’s normal operating hours. Feel free to arrive earlier, as we’ll have meet & greet time starting at 5:15pm.

Standard agenda items include reports and updates from public safety, legislative, city staff, and local leaders. If you have an agenda item to suggest or wish to make a public comment, please contact us via email at: UniversityCityNews@gmail.com.

From UCCA’s president Jemma Samala: Please also note on your calendars that we are hosting public meetings every other month. The UCCA board will have board-only working meetings in the other months. The public meeting dates for 2024 are listed below, all starting at 5:30pm at the UC Library:

  • January 10
  • March 13
  • May 8
  • July 10
  • September 11
  • November 13

During the off months of February, April, June, August and October, we will be planning “One-on-One” talks – one person, one topic of concern to the community. If that is something you, or your public official, would be interested in, please let me know. I envision them to be one hour long max, including a Q&A at the end. Dates and times are flexible.

  • In February, UCCA hosted the Pure Water Construction and the Transportation Teams for a “One-on-One” talk at the Nobel Recreation Center.
  • During April, UCCA will host Councilmember Kent Lee and his team for a “One-on-One” talk on April 22 at the University Community Library on Governor.

Thanks for your service,
Jemma Samala
