Happy February University City! From UCCA President Jemma Samala (excerpts from Jemma’s February newsletter column):
Let’s get to work! We’ve survived another holiday season, and now we look ahead towards a busy and productive year. I believe one thing that we all have in common, as with so many of UC residents, is our love of community. Diane told me that my column last month was like a love letter to University City. And yes, I ♥ UC! I hear about so many residents who have lived in UC for decades, whose kids also live in UC, no wonder 92122 is a hot real estate and rental market – none of us want to leave!
I think of February as Valentine’s Day month – and love comes in many forms. Yes, of course your love of your partner, your children, your family, your friends, your pets, and your community. I know many of you love UC as I do, otherwise we wouldn’t have so many volunteers in our community groups, our schools, our social clubs.
Our love of community helps keep all your neighbors informed about issues that affect our neighborhood and what we can do about it. We may not always agree, but we all care. Read my complete column on page 3 (and much more) of the February print newsletter, now available online. Weather permitting, delivery will begin this weekend.
