November 2002

Have you ever wanted to look back to see what was going on in University City this month in (recent) history? Well, now you can.

UCCA has been publishing a monthly newsletter since mid 2002. And (almost) all are available on UCCA’s Newsletter page at https://www.universitycitynews.org/ucca-newsletter-archives/

You probably assume that November newsletters are focused on Thanksgiving; and you’re correct. But there’s more.

– The 2002 issue was only 4 pages and included information about the city’s free trees program.

– November 2003 was an 8 page issue and contained a call by SANDAG for input on the trolley extension; and the Celebration committee was seeking volunteers.

– In 2004, the newsletter featured the new play equipment at the ‘Dinosaur Park’ at University Gardens Park, Governor and Gullstrand.

– In 2005, the cover story was about the Boys Water Polo Team’s first place trophy.

If you’d like make history and memories, you can do so by participating in the events that UCCA supports such as the upcoming holiday tree and menorah lighting; the 4th of July Celebration; and Neighborhood Watch.

If volunteering is not possible, you can still contribute by becoming a UCCA member (join today at http://www.UniversityCityNews.org/join-ucca-today/and by submitting neighborhood news and events for the newsletter and news feed.

Let’s work together to make University City more than a neighborhood.
