Every active registered voter in San Diego will automatically receive a ballot in the mail nearly a month before Election Day. Ballots start going out in the US Mail the week of May 9 for the June 7, 2022, Primary Election. Under the Voter’s Choice Act (VCA), voters choose when, where and how to vote. Early voting begins May 9 for the June Primary Election.

Elections are no longer a one-day event and there is no need to wait until Election Day to vote. Voters can return their ballot by US Mail, at a secure Ballot Drop Off Location, or at a Vote Center.
