Miramar Air Show 2019: will it be “quieter” than usual in University City?

Share

From Diane Ahern, UCCA’s representative to the Miramar Community Leaders Forum: Air Show 2019 might seem quieter this year in University City. That’s because there is no F-22 aerial demo on the schedule; and there is no stand alone F-35 aerial demo. The F-35B demo will be part of the MAGTF (Marine Air Ground Task Force) presentation scheduled 12:59 PM Friday; 12:22 PM Saturday and Sunday.

University City residents, especially those in areas close to MCAS Miramar, will probably be able see these aerial demos on Air Show days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) this year:
– Air Force F-16 Viper demo scheduled 2:30 PM Friday; 1:53 PM Saturday and Sunday (according to MCAS MIRAMAR Facebook)
– RAF Red Arrows scheduled 2:42 PM Saturday and Sunday (according to MCAS MIRAMAR Facebook)
– Navy Blue Angels scheduled 3:19 PM Friday; Saturday and Sunday (according to MCAS MIRAMAR Facebook)

Practice Day – Thursday, September 26 – UCCA has not seen a published practice schedule for Thursday but we expect the Blue Angels to practice in the afternoon. Everything is subject to change depending on weather and other operational issues.
