Were you there? This year’s 2019 UC Celebration was a day to remember. Festivities began bright and early with the pancake breakfast tempting both the 1-Mile Fun Run and 5k Race participants and the vendors beginning early morning setup. Throughout the day, the University City community was entertained by musicians and performers, participated in field games, enjoyed tasty dishes from food vendors, visited community and vendor booths, played in the snow area, and some took a dip at Swanson Pool. The Standley Middle School Marching Band lead the bike and pet parade and the UC Cars and Coffee show returned to the Spreckels parking lot. Manual Scan closed out the day with a special evening concert.  Hundreds took advantage of the Old Town Trolley which provided transportation the length of Governor. Thanks to the UC Celebration Committee, the Recreation Council, the vendors and musicians, the Recreation Center staff, and all the volunteers and sponsors who have worked so hard to make the UC Celebration a University City tradition for over 30 years. Thanks also goes the the County Board of Supervisors for funding a Community Enhancement Grant to help offset the costs of the UC Celebration.

Check out the attached picture. That’s Randall, this year‘s committee chair, with Gordon and Bob. Both Gordon and Bob were both part of the first UC Celebration in 1988.
