Special Guest – Item 5: Information Item: At the beginning of the meeting, we will have a short presentation by Col. Erik Herrmann, the new MCAS Miramar base commander. He will give an overview of his goals for his upcoming three-year term as base commander and answer questions. Agenda Highlights:
- Item 8: Action Item: This is a renewal of a Wireless Control Facility Conditional Use Permit located north of the Salk Institute. No construction or changes are involved. The presentation by the applicant’s representative is attached here: 2024_09_10_CAL00426 WCF CPG Presentation
- Item 9: Action Item: We had anticipated that outreach and engagement to UCPG District 4 residents (UC San Diego campus) would be further along when we originally scheduled nominations for three voting members of the board for September 10 and elections for October 8. Revised dates will be October 8 for nominations, with elections on November 12. Outreach and engagement material are almost ready, and residents will be returning to their housing in about a week. Undergraduate, graduate, and professional school residents are included.
- Item 10: Action Item: The UCPG will decide if it wants to vote on the University Community Plan, and if so, vote on it for the record.
- Item 11: Action Item: The UCPG submitted its CIP list to the city in July and decided to rank by priority the CIP items for use by our Council office and the UCPG. We will approve the ranking of CIP items.
