👋Hello University City neighbor, there’s a lot going on in University City and we have a lot to chat about. It’s almost October and it’s beginning to feel like Fall. Let’s get out there and enjoy the great weather and events during Fall in University City. I know you are looking forward to getting together with friends and families at Oktoberfest. I hope to see you there; please stop by UCCA’s booth to say hi.

The University City News PDF version is now available to download and share. Local home and business delivery begins this weekend. Print copies are also available at our local recreation centers and libraries. 🎃👻🎃Halloween Movies (and two Halloween Festivals)  in University City:

  • 🎃Friday, October 13 at Doyle Recreation Center, the Halloween movie Hocus Pocus begins at dusk.
  • 🎃Friday, October 13 at Nobel Recreation Center, the Halloween Festival begins at 3:30pm and the Halloween movie The Book of Life begins at dusk.
  • 🎃Saturday, October 28 at Standley Recreation Center, the Halloween Festival begins 4:30pm and the movie Hotel Transylvania 2 begins at dusk.

UCCA Election Notice: The University City Community Association (UCCA) will hold its bi-annual election for officers this fall. The elected officers of UCCA are President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Elected officers must be University City residents and are elected for a two-year term; the President may not serve more than two consecutive terms.

Self-nominations are welcome. All nominees for officer positions must be UCCA members and have attended a minimum of two regular meetings in the 12 months preceding the time of nomination. For more information about UCCA and to review its bylaws, visit: universitycitynews.org/ucca-about-us

The UCCA officer election will take place at the November 8, 2023, UCCA meeting. This meeting will be in-person at the University Community Library on Governor Drive. UCCA members may vote from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. If you are interested in running for an elected officer position, or if you have any questions about UCCA, please attend the October UCCA meeting; and reach out to us at UniversityCityNews@gmail.com.
