Pure Water construction on Genesee will enter a new phase in August with construction work beginning on Genesee at the Governor Drive instersection. All work is expected to take place at night. Pure Water construction on Towne Center Drive: ⚠️ On August 1, traffic control will be set-up and construction will begin on southbound Towne Centre Drive between La Jolla Village Drive and Towne Centre Gateway as part of the City of San Diego Morena Northern Pipelines and Tunnels project in University City. This work is estimated to take 30 days to complete.
⚠️ What to Expect:
🔹Construction of Phase 1 will occur during the daytime from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; driveway crossings as part of future phases will be completed overnight.
🔹Business driveways will remain open.
🔹Two-way traffic will be maintained on La Jolla Village Drive and Towne Centre Drive.
🔹Construction teams will be installing one 48-inch wastewater pipeline and one 30-inch brine pipeline in a 20-foot-deep trench.
🔹For the safety of the public and construction crews, a concrete barrier will be installed around the work zone.
🔹24/7 access for emergency vehicles, residences and businesses will be maintained.
🔹For safety reasons, please follow all posted signage for traffic on Towne Centre Drive. Please anticipate traffic delays and construction noise.
