July / August University City News

Planning is underway for the 32nd annual UC Celebration on the 4th of July. It’s the biggest Summer Event in University City! Many volunteers are needed to help make this community event at Standley Park, 3585 Governor Drive, a huge success. If you and your family plan to attend, please also plan to help.

This year’s event will include a 5K walk/fun run, pancake breakfast, opportunity draw, bike & pet parade, the Standley MS marching band, Old Town Trolley rides, field games and sack races, Hawaiian / Polynesian Review, food vendors, Swanson / Standley Pool free swim, beer garden, vendor and community booths, car show, and much more.

Musical guests include the Phil Marcus Trio and the Resonators. The closing concert is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. with Y3K performing at the Standley MS School pavilion stage near the Standley MS parking lot.

There will also be a Kids Zone with inflatables and other activities for kids available at an additional charge. Bring money; Venmo sales and donations are also available. The UC Celebration is a fundraiser for the University City Parks Council; proceeds help fund the Summer Concerts and other events at Standley Park.
