UCPG March 2023 Meeting Information

From UCPG (planning group) chair Chris Nielsen: Please find the agenda for the UCPG meeting on March 14, an in-person meeting, to be held at 10300 Campus Pointe Drive, second floor, at 6PM.  This meeting location is the one we used prior to the pandemic. UCPG elections are now in progress.  If you wish to drop-off your ballot at one of the two UC library locations, please find instructions here: https://www.sandiego.gov/planning/community/profiles/university/agendas

For in-person voting between 5 and 8PM on March 14, please use the tables set up just outside the meeting room on the second floor of 10300 Campus Pointe Drive.  There will be signs giving directions to the meeting and polling place.

Items on the agenda for March:

Action Item #7: Towne Centre View project recommendation.  This final project recommendation will be based on the Final EIR, the Towne Centre View subcommittee recommendation, and tonight’s presentation.  The TCV subcommittee has been meeting regularly with BioMed since 2020, reviewing the project since the community plan amendment initiation.  Clif Williams, Latham & Watkins, Stephanie Saathoff, The Clay Co., and Emily Colwell (EIR), T&B Planning, presenting.

The presentation should be available Friday March 10 after the TCV subcommittee meets on Thursday March 9.  The Response to Comments with exhibits is attached in a separate email.  Please let me know if you do NOT receive these two files but are interested in them. The final EIR has not been released by the city, but is expected momentarily, and will be found here: www.sandiego.gov/ceqa

Action Item #8: Wireless Control facility project recommendation.  This project, located at 6080 Miramar Road in the Miramar APZ1 zone, requires a renewal of its Conditional Use Permit.  Michele Vanderveen, SCV Consulting, presenting.  The presentation is pending.

Election Results after 8PM:  We expect election results after in-person voting ends at 8PM.

Information Item #9:  Redevelopment of the 11011 Torreyana site.  This information item is designed to take initial community feedback on the proposed redevelopment.  The project consists of the demo of a 76,694 sq. ft. building and construction of a 203,000 sq. ft., two-story building with one basement level plus four levels of subgrade parking.  Scientific research will continue to be the use for the site.  Evan Wilson, Bridgewest Group, presenting.  The presentation is pending.

UCPG March 2023 Election Information

The University Community Planning Group (UCPG) will hold its annual election for the UCPG Executive Board on March 14, 2023. The agenda for the March 14 UCPG meeting will be released on March 9.

UCPG board members will be elected for three residential and three business seats with three-year terms beginning April 11, 2023. Resident members from each district vote for their resident district board seat and business members vote for their business district board seats.

How do you vote? In person voting will be available outside the UCPG meeting room at 10300 Campus Pointe Dr. from 5PM to 8PM on March 14, 2023.

For your health, safety, and convenience we’re pleased to offer drop off ballot boxes at the two UC libraries during library operating hours from Monday March 6 to Monday March 13.
