Wow! What a wonderful way to start the holiday season in University City. It was so nice to meet and greet neighbors and friends in person at the Dinner with Santa and Holiday Celebration at Standley Park and Recreation Center. Thanks to event planning chairs Roger Hughes, Barry Bernstein, Carol Parham, and Darlene Ventimiglia. Event sponsors included University City Community Association, the University City Parks Council, and the Standley Park Community Recreation Group.

Musical guests included the Standley MS Marching Band, the Key of She, Our Mother of Confidence Children’s Choir, and Tom Ventimiglia.

Thank you to all those who served cookies and hot chocolate. The Rec Center staff and volunteers, the lighting and staging crew, the holiday arts and crafts team, and the Dinner with Santa crews all outdid themselves. Thanks to the firefighters from station 50, and to CM LaCava and CM-elect Lee (and their families) for joining us. And, of course, a special shout out to Santa.

Many thanks to the volunteers and Recreation Center staff who devoted many hours to make this annual event so special. Thanks also to all those community members who made donations. And of course, thanks to Greg Hom for providing free access and downloads of his photos. Take a look at: https://ghom.zenfolio.com/p186869668
