In case you missed it, or you want to review, the City’s Planning Department has released the video Presentation Recording of the Community Plan Update Subcommittee meeting held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Those in attendance heard two presentations by the Planning Department – one with the Online Engagement Tool (survey) Results and the other with Proposed Land Use Options. February 2022 – Outreach Summary & Proposed Land Use Scenarios

Please note that Andy Wiese is the volunteer chair of the Community Plan Update Subcommittee. Katie Witherspoon is the City Planning Department Project Manager; contact her by email at KatieW@SanDiego.gov.

The Proposed Land Use Options are depicted in the Presentation PDF. The proposed Land Use Scenarios for south University City (adjacent to Governor Drive) begin on page 47. Please take a close look at page 49 where the City Planning Department illustrates “An option for further discussion is to study the implementation of medium low density, multi-family residential within areas of SB9 Implementation. This scenario proposes increasing residential densities as depicted to a townhome multi-family use. This is an opportunity to shape how SB9 looks in these SB9 areas within the community.”

The Tuesday, February 15, 2022, meeting was an “information item” for Zoning and Land Use Options. There will be discussion of Proposed Land Use Scenarios at the March Community Plan Update Subcommittee meeting.
