From the Office of Councilmember LaCava: The San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) has started construction on a solar energy project at University City High School (UCHS) with construction planned to conclude Fall 2022. This project includes installing photovoltaic panels in the main entry parking lot and along the hillside at the corner of Genesee Avenue and Centurion Square, 6949 Genesee Ave, San Diego, CA 92122.
The SDUSD project team is working closely with the University City High School to minimize impacts to the surrounding community. To avoid disruption to learning, construction activities may take place during weekends, evenings, and school breaks. Additionally, contractors will follow social distancing and safety guidance created by public health authorities and will do their best to limit noise, dust, odors and disruptions associated with this project.
