From the Office of Councilmember Joe LaCava: Beginning this week, the City of San Diego Stormwater Department will be performing a repair to a heavily corroded pipe located at the intersection of Calgary Drive and Calgary Avenue in University City.
The pipe replacement project will include the following work:
- Removal of 62 feet of the existing Corrugated Metal Pipe which will be replaced with an 18-inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe along Calgary Avenue
- Removal and replacement of a curb inlet
- Installation of two new pedestrian ramps that will comply with ADA requirements
The project is expected to take 30 days and the affected intersection will be intermittently closed during construction with appropriate signage and traffic control in place as needed. The adjacent homes and community members have been notified about the planned work, and the street will be fully open for vehicle use during the upcoming special election.
