Please Note: The San Diego Fire Rescue Department has not issued a public statement about the design proposals. All four design proposals meet the criteria as outlined in the Project Description*. This survey is for the community. 

What’s your preference: The City of San Diego invites you to review the Torrey Pines (UCSD) Fire Station design proposals and select the one you like most. Proposals from the design-build team finalists for the Torrey Pines Fire Station design-build project are available for your review now through January 8, 2021. Please visit the project web page to choose your favorite design proposal.

*Project Description: The Torrey Pines (UCSD) Fire Station site is located east of North Torrey Pines Road between its intersections with Genesee Avenue and North Point Drive on the UCSD West Campus. This project provides for the design and construction of a new permanent 3-bay fire station of approximately 10,500 square feet. The facility will accommodate three (3) fire apparatus and a crew of nine to eleven (11) fire personnel, onsite surface parking for fire-rescue personnel apparatus bays, dorm rooms, kitchen, watch room, ready room, station alerting system, IT data network, wet and dry utilities, electrical, mechanical and all other necessary infrastructure associated with this project. In addition, the offsite improvements include but are not limited to site grading, utility, street/traffic improvements within the public right-of-way along Torrey Pines Road to allow for emergency response apparatus’ egress & ingress.

Due to the project site located within the Coastal Zone, the project will require discretionary permits, surveys, studies, to meet all land use and environmental regulations.
