Planned joint-use improvements for Standley Middle include a new joint-use pool aquatic center, outdoor pavilion, and running/walking path. Spreckels Elementary will experience a whole site modernization.
The board of San Diego Unified School District approved the project at its September 8 board meeting. The construction fence for the Standley Middle School and Aquatic Center project could be installed as soon as September 14, 2020; this date is tentative and subject to change. The first phase of construction will impact the joint-use fields and space between Standley Middle School and Swanson Pool on Governor Drive in University City.
