The COVID-19 outbreak has led many businesses to suffer, including a number of locally owned restaurants. Scott Slater, who owns Spitfire Tacos  https://www.spitfiretacos.com/ and Head Lettuce https://www.theheadlettuce.com/ in the Regents Park Row Center in the University City area of San Diego, along with his wife Thai, talks about how they have been able to keep their business going by donating meals to front line healthcare workers and families in need through their San Diego Ready Meals program. Plus their food is delicious! For more information about Scott and Thai Slater’s local restaurants and volunteer efforts, listen or watch the UC Talks podcast; and visit their restaurant websites. UC Talks is hosted by University City Community Association Newsletter Editor Jemma Samala.
