Scripps is hosting a Fall Prevention Workshop on Saturday, January 11, beginning at 9:15 am with a resource fair. This is a this free, interactive event to learn more about what you can do to prevent falls this winter and year round. Julie Gollin, MD, internal medicine physician, will be the keynote speaker. Check-in begins at 9:15 am. Walter Biffl, MD, trauma medical director, will provide opening remarks at 10 am. The resource fair will be open from 9:15 – 10 am and from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm.
The event will include:
- Engaging presentations from fall prevention experts
- Balance and fall risk screening assessments by Scripps physical therapy and occupational therapy specialists
- Complimentary lunch
- Resources for you and your family
- Free parking
