‘Summer Fury’ Aviation Exercise Underway at MCAS Miramar through August 2

Exercise ‘Summer Fury’ 2019 is a two-week military event at MCAS Miramar that will culminate in an air assault exercise that will include Marines and sailors from the 3rd MAW. The exercise began July 15 and will run through August 2, according to MCAS Miramar officials as reported by the Times of San Diego. Summer Fury is intended to increase the unit’s effectiveness in combat while keeping Marines and sailors on their toes to be deployed on short notice. The air assault will also be the largest the 3rd MAW has ever conducted during a training exercise.
