The City of San Diego is updating the University City Community Plan. The planning department has developed a survey to give all who live or work in the University City community an opportunity to provide early input to help guide the community plan update. We need your feedback to help shape our future. Refer to the University Community Plan Update website for information on the update process on the City’s website at: www.sandiego.gov/planning/community/cpu/university. To access the survey directly, go to: https://app.maptionnaire.com/en/5638/. The survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete and will be open until June 30, 2019.
Please take the time to complete this survey and share your suggestions. Please note that the survey is divided into six sections:
- Priorities – Survey takers are asked to rate priorities that will shape the overall structure of the Community Plan and inform more detailed recommendations; uses a scale from not very important (1) to very important (5). Includes a comment box to add other key priorities.
- Mobility Improvements – With the aid of an interactive map, survey takers are asked to suggest locations for bicycle network, transit improvements and vehicle/roadway improvements.
- Housing – Using an interactive map, survey takers are asked to suggest locations for new mixed-use housing (this includes retail uses and/or office uses with multi-family) and multi-family housing (this includes residential uses with multi-family).
- Non-Residential Development – Survey takers are asked to comment on types of office and commercial developments that might be increased within the University Community using a rating system from no increase (1) to high increase (5). Seeks input on neighborhood stores such as grocery, arts and entertainment spaces, and restaurants as well as office and other commercial developments. Includes the option to suggest specific locations using an interactive map.
- Parks and Public Spaces – Survey takers are asked to suggest amenities to enhance existing parks and recreation in the University Community. Options include Integrated pedestrian connections from parks to surrounding areas, Transit connections to parks, Active sports fields (baseball/softball, soccer, football, etc.), Tennis Courts, Basketball Courts, Skate Park, Aquatic complex, Non-programmed grass areas, Picnic areas and benches, Children’s play areas, Hiking/walking natural trails, Off-leash dog parks, Recreation Center, Seniors Center, Bathrooms, Informational Displays, Community Meeting Spaces. Includes the option to suggest other amenities, new parks and specific locations using an interactive map.
- Demographic Information – Survey takers are asked to provide anonymous answers to basic demographic questions.
