All of these events are happening in University City on Saturday, March 16! Don’t miss out; there’s always something to do in University City.

Blood Drive, 8 AM to 1:30 PM: A UCUC San Diego Blood Bank Bloodmobile Blood Drive at the Sprouts Marketplace on Governor Drive from 8 AM to 1:30 PM. You can sign up in advance at mysdbb.org. Slowest times are between 10 AM and 1 PM. The last Blood Drive in January produced 38 successful pints, anything greater than 30 is above-average. UC’s most prolific blood doors are: Justina F., Jennene H. And Nellie P. Prior to donating try to eat your beans and greens, plus drink plenty of water before and after donating. The remaining 2019 blood drive dates are: May 11, July 13, September 14 and November 9.

Shred-Fest returns to University City, 9 AM to 12:30 PM:  Back by popular demand for the 14th year! Have your files taken on a life of their own? UC Coldwell Banker is sponsoring their 14th annual (free) Shred-Fest on Saturday, March 16, 9:00am to 12:30pm, in the parking lot behind 3959 Governor Drive. Their new location is in the rear parking lot behind Vons and the Coldwell Banker office on the southwest side of the shopping center. They have rented a huge, super-fast shredding machine. You are welcome to stay and watch your documents get chewed to pieces. Please limit documents to be shredded to three boxes. For more info, contact John Schindel at John.Schindel@camoves.com.

Bounce House and Food Drive at Standley Park, 10 AM to 1 PM: Enjoy a morning of Bounce House fun, face painting with Frannie the Clown, donuts, and much more, from 10 AM to 1 PM. All that is asked in return is bring two nonperishable food items, and you will also be entered into a raffle to win a new iPad. All food items will be donated to the San Diego Food Bank.
