Join UCSD Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla in celebrating the opening of the Gilman Bridge on February 7, 2019, as part of the Gilman Bridge Ribbon Cutting and Community Celebration. The free event will offer students, faculty, staff and community the opportunity to take part in the ceremonial ribbon cutting and be among the first to walk the new bridge. MTS is adding a special SuperLoop Rapid (201/202) stop at the bridge from 10 AM to 2 PM for the event. For more information and to RSVP, visit http://onthego.ucsd.edu/projects/gilman-bridge.html

The long-awaited Gilman Bridge, which is designed to better connect east and west campuses of UCSD, will open to traffic on February 8, 2019. Spanning gracefully across Interstate 5, the new bridge unites two existing campus roads—Gilman Drive on the west and Medical Center Drive on the east—making it quicker and more efficient to get across campus without using busy city streets.
