Don’t be Caught Off Guard by an Emergency: Register with AlertSanDiego

Share

Recent devastating wildfires throughout our state and the most recent Red Flag Warning in our county have served as critical reminders that we must do all that we can to be resilient and prepared in the face of disasters. Don’t be caught off guard by an emergency. Register with AlertSanDiego, the region’s emergency mass notification system. Get notified on your cell phone and email of evacuations and other important actions you can take during a disaster in your area

Registration is quick, simple, and free at http://www.ReadySanDiego.org/AlertSanDiego

The Office of Emergency Services also recommends being prepared to leave in 15 minutes or less after an evacuation order is issued. During a disaster, it’s important that you, your family and your pets are prepared to leave before first responders order evacuations. Take time to talk with your family about your plan to stay safe and have your emergency kits ready to go. An out of control wildfire can move quickly, so if you feel unsafe, don’t wait until you receive an evacuation order to leave your home.
