Friday, October 19: Santa Ana conditions – SDFR and MCAS Miramar

Share

From SDFR – Beginning Friday, October 19, 2018 at 8 a.m., SD Fire-Rescue will add five additional brush engines and two water tenders to our normal staffing for a period of 12 hours. This increased staffing pattern is a result of the Santa Ana conditions and red flag warning issued by the National Weather Service. We will monitor the conditions in our region and perhaps extend the increased staffing pattern.

Please create and practice an emergency plan with the members of your household. Our Ready, Set, Go! guide has tips and checklists useful for emergencies, including wildland fires. The guide is available in English and Spanish at www.sandiego.gov/fire; more info at https://www.facebook.com/101872433273538/posts/1762227187238046/

Re MCAS Miramar – Santa Ana conditions may also influence flight operations at MCAS Miramar. Anticipate runway 6 activation with a west to east approach and landing pattern. For questions about current operations at MCAS Miramar, contact the Operations Duty Officer (ODO) at ‭858-577-4277‬ or visit https://www.universitycitynews.org/mcas-miramar-operations-information-and-contacts/
