Sunday, August 19: Volunteer Appreciation Day in University City

Share

UCCA will pay tribute to our volunteers on Sunday, August 19, during the Summer Concert intermission. UCCA thanks the many volunteers who deliver newsletters every month, the Neighborhood Watch street captains, and the hundreds of volunteers who help out at events such as the 4th of July Celebration, the Summer Concerts, the Holiday Tree and Menorah Lighting, utility box art projects, and in Neighborhood Watch groups. Please stop by the volunteer table during the concert intermission for a special gift.

The Corvelles (the Supremes Legacy) are performing at Standley Park, Sunday, August 19. Stop, in the Name of Love! This high energy band pumps out a Motown Revue like nobody’s business. Their show is a sensation that audiences will enjoy long after the night is over. Warm up and sound check begins at 4:30 PM. Show begins at 5. Don’t be late; you don’t want to miss any of the action.

Standley Park, 3585 Governor Drive, is a fun and family friendly venue with playground and large grassy area. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, snacks and drinks, and enjoy a lovely evening with friends and neighbors in University City. Arrive early to pick out a favorite spot in the shade. Don’t forget your dancing shoes! Please note that concerts are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.
