At its March 14 UCCA community meeting, representatives with Regency Centers presented information on their Costa Verde Revitalization project.

According to information presented at UCCA and contained in Section 8 of the Draft EIR published on January 31, Proposed Project Alternatives, the following four alternatives are currently under consideration:

  1. The Proposed Project (no changes to the original plan to construct hotel and 4 story parking structure on property);
  2. Reconfigured Parking and Increased Pedestrian Amenities Alternative (reduces height of parking structure next to the Vi at La Jolla);
  3. Commercial/Retail and Hotel Alternative; and
  4. Commercial/Retail Only Alternative.

Stephanie Boudreau, Executive Director, Vi at La Jolla Village, expressed support for Alternative 2; this alternative plan was developed with the support of area residents including the 600 residents of Vi at La Jolla Village. “This alternative is reflective of the collaboration that we had with Regency to address our Vi resident concerns regarding the parking garage,” she said.
