Marines and Sailors from 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) kicked off Exercise Winter Fury at MCAS Miramar on November 28.

Winter Fury is an opportunity for 3rd MAW to exercise the skills needed as the aviation combat element of a Marine Air Ground Task Force during a combat deployment.

Besides operations at MCAS Miramar, portions of the exercise will also take place at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, and San Clemente Island.

Local residents can expect increased flight operations during the exercise.
