Wow! What a difference 6 days and a few coats of paint can make!
Neighbors Diane Ahern and Kathy Niess (pictured) teamed up to paint the electrical utility box at 7056 Gullstrand Street.
It started with an idea to beautify one of the most unattractive utility boxes in the area and a desire to establish a utility box beautification protocol that others could easily replicate. Since Kathy had experience using stencils, the search began for large stencils with a simple design to fill the space.
After gaining approval of the Crazy Daisy design, color palette and location from University City Community Association’s Beautification Co-chair Barbara Gellman, the transformation began.
Take a look at the before, during and after photos.
