Sky Party at the Library (solar eclipse viewing) August 21

Share

Courtesy of Melissa Martin, University Community Library manager:

North America will experience a total solar eclipse, exclusive to the United States, on the morning of August 21, 2017. Join in a Solar Eclipse viewing party starting at 9:45 AM outside the University Community Branch Library, where you can watch the partial eclipse. Step inside the library to view a live stream of the total solar eclipse on the NASA website. Come early to get a good spot!

We will have Solar Viewing Glasses for patrons during the event (while supplies last). Activities for kids such as a scavenger hunt and coloring pages will also be available.

San Diego is outside of the path for a total solar eclipse but will experience a partial solar eclipse – about 60% coverage – at 10:23 AM.
