Events for Adults


Concert: Silverwood
is a versatile ensemble, playing many different songs of classical music. Wednesday, July 5 @ 6:30.

Adult Writers’ Group – Meet with other beginning writers in a supportive environment—share your writing, positively critique others’ work and hear from guest writers. Thursday, July 6 @ 1:30 p.m.

Accordion Club meets the second and fourth Saturday of each month. All are welcome!  Saturday, July 8 & 22 @ 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Computer Class on Android devices. Space is limited, please call (858)552-1655 to RSVP. Monday, July 10 @ 10:30 a.m.

OASIS: Louis Kahn: CANCELLED at presenter’s request. Please contact library for new date.

University City Community Association. This is a community meeting featuring updates from law enforcement, fire-rescue service, legislative and other community leaders. All are welcome.  Wednesday, July 12 @ 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Jewelry Making, take home something you made yourself! Make your own earrings and/or other pieces of jewelry with an experienced crafter. Space is limited, please call (858)552-1655 to RSVP. Friday, July 14 @ 10:00 a.m. & Noon.

UC Book Club will be discussing Larose by Louise Erdrich. Wednesday, July 26 @ 2:00 p.m.

 Events for Children

Preschool Storytime for Kids; stories, crafts, finger plays and songs. Every Thursday @ 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Makerspace Craft Station is available in the Children’s Area with a different craft each week. All week long (Monday – Saturday).

Events for Tweens/Teens 

Video Game Fridays, Wii gaming with your friends, Get your game on! Every Friday @ 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.

Summer Reading Program

Michael Rayner’s show is a combination of hilarious tricks and stunts with uproarious stand-up.  He balances a wheelbarrow on his chin, spins a cheeseburger on an umbrella just to name a few. Wednesday, July 5 @ 2:00 p.m.

Craig Newton presents a wonderful program of exciting music ranging from marches to rock and roll. Playing an incredible variety of instruments (at least ten). Wednesday, July 12 @ 2:00 p.m.

Bill “the Bug Guy” shares his wealth of knowledge about incredible insects and their adaptations and survival strategies. Wednesday, July 19 @ 2:00 p.m.

Living Coast Discovery Center is a fun, hands-on wildlife and nature experience for the whole family, based on San Diego Bay and the Sweetwater Marsh. Wednesday, July 26 @ 2:00 p.m.

SRP Movies, join us for a children’s movie and popcorn. Call for details on what movie will be shown. Friday, July 7, 14, 21, 28 @ 2:30 p.m.
