Mr. Phillip Marcus is retiring! Let’s wish him well; come to Standley Park on Friday, June 9 from 4 to 7 PM to help him retire on a happy note. Bring a food dish to share or just come to wish him well!

Everyone is invited. Present and past students and parents, as well as the University City community, are all welcome to attend.

Students and alumni, bring a picture of yourself with Mr. Marcus for his scrapbook and don’t forget to sign the book.

Mr. Marcus’ has had a huge impact on University City throughout his long career.

He and the Standley marching band have performed for the 4th of July UC Celebration, the Standley Park / UCCA Tree and Menorah Lighting, EdUCate’s Oktoberfest, Curie’s Craft Fair, Spreckel’s Fiesta de Mayo, UC Little League Opening Day, and the La Jolla Christmas Parade.

His grade 7-8 Intermediate band always performed at Standley’s graduation. His orchestra quartet/quintet performed at EdUCate’s Taste of Triangle. And, Mr. Marcus’ Trio also performed at our UCHS Music Boosters Sights and Sounds Showcase.
