Events for Adults

Hatha Yoga. Mondays at 12:00 pm. This Hatha Yoga class uses postures and stretches in combination with the breath to increase flexibility and relaxation. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat or floor towel.

Small Business Assistance. 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at 11:30 am. Dr. Adolpho Sanchez offers help in navigating the process to starting a business. Appointments available by calling the library.

Job Help Assistance. 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at 3:30 pm. Dr. Adolpho Sanchez offers help with resume writing and job searching. Appointments available by calling the library.

Gentle Yoga. Fridays at 10:00 am. Learn basic yoga techniques, perfect for beginners, expectant mothers, seniors and persons with disabilities. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat or floor towel.

Page Turners Book Club. Wednesday, February 8 at 6:00 pm. Please ask at the Circulation desk for the title to be discussed.

Knitters’ Circle. Thursday, February 9 & 23 at 1:00 pm. All yarn enthusiasts are welcome.

Fiction Fanatics Book Club. Saturday, February 11 at 10:00 am. Please ask at the Circulation desk for the title to be discussed.

A Cup of Creation: Art Classes for Adults. Sunday, February 12 at 1:00 pm. Each class will utilize a different art technique to inspire the creation of unique pieces. Participants are asked to bring a small sketchbook to class; all other supplies provided.

Cinema Café. Wednesday, February 15 at 6:00 pm. Enjoy refreshments while watching a thought-provoking film. Title TBA. Please inquire with library staff for further details.

Concert: Artisan Wind Trio. Sunday, February 19 at 3:00 pm. Featuring clarinetist Katrina Earl, flutist Jeremy Malangit, and oboist Juliana Gaona.

Events for Children/Families

Babies and Books. Mondays & Fridays at 10:00 am. This lap-sit storytime will introduce a love for books by using song, movement, rhythm and rhyme. Recommended age: Birth – 2 years.

Homework Helpers. Tuesdays at 5:00 pm. Homework help for students in grades K-6.

Kids’ Art Studio. Wednesdays at 12:00 pm. A fun art lesson every week! No registration required. For grades K-6.
Music and Movement. Fridays at 11:00 am at the Nobel Recreation Center. Sing, Dance and Play! Children enjoy songs and movement activities that build motor skills and increase independence.

LEGO Club. Fridays at 3:00 pm. Make new friends and build amazing creations every week.

Russian Handwriting Class. Saturdays at 12:00 pm. Learn to write typing and classic Russian scripts.

Arts & Crafts. Saturdays at 1:00 pm. Let your creativity run wild with a fun craft activity! Children under 8 welcome with an adult or older sibling.

Yoga Storytime. Monday, February 13 & 27 at 10:30 am. Stretch both your body and your mind in this unique program that combines stories, songs and simple yoga poses. Families enjoy healthy fun and bonding. Please bring your own mat.

STEAM 2 Academy. Tuesday, February 14 at 3:00 pm. Science-based educational activities geared to students in grades K-3.

Tiny Tots Storytime. Wednesday, February 15 at 5:30 pm. Miss Kim reads books and plays the piano in this fun sing-along storytime complete with percussion instruments.

Paws to Read. Monday, February 27 at 4:30 pm. Practice reading out loud to a furry friend! Certified therapy dogs provided by Love on a Leash, San Diego Central Chapter.

Weekly Storytimes:

English – Thursdays & Saturdays at 10:30 am.

French – Thursdays at 11:15 am.

Sign Language – Thursday, February 9 at 12 noon.
