LWSD 31-Day Challenge #26: Participate in a Cleanup Event!

Share

From Live Well San Diego:

Join Live Well San Diego Recognized Partner I Love A Clean San Diego this Saturday for their Clean Parks for a Clean Coast event at Larsen Field in San Ysidro! This is a great opportunity to learn about the impacts of trash on our oceans, and then turn knowledge into action. Volunteers will assist in various beautification projects throughout the area like planting, mulching, storm drain stenciling and litter pickup.

Can’t make it this Saturday? There are other Live Well San Diego Recognized Partners that offer opportunities to help protect our local environment.

  • WiLDCOAST – An international community-based organization committed to conserving and sustaining coastal and marine ecosystems and wildlife
  • Solana Center for Environmental Innovation – Empowers residents to become environmental stewards in their communities through environmental education and community outreach programs.
  • HandsOn San Diego – Creates opportunities for people to volunteer and lead in their communities by working with local nonprofits, schools and parks to identify group volunteer projects.

Editor’s note: People for Clean UC (pictured), under the leadership of Vince Reardon, hosts a monthly cleanup in University City. The next local cleanup is on Sunday, February 12 from 7:30-9:00 am. They meet at Starbucks, 3202 Governor Dr. All supplies are provided.
