LWSD 31-Day Challenge #10: Organize a Group Walk at Work or in Your Neighborhood!

Share

From Live Well San Diego:

lwsd-challenge-10According to the American Heart Association, 30 minutes a day of physical activity, 5 times a week is all you need to improve your cardiovascular health. Any physical activity that makes your body move and your heart pump faster will help you burn calories and make you stronger.

The simplest kind of physical activity that almost everyone can do is walking. Why not grab a couple of coworkers or neighbors and take a walk together today?

You can also join the American Public Health Association’s 1 Billion Steps Challenge!  The goal is to collectively walk 1 billion steps between Jan. 9 and the end of National Public Health Week on April 9, 2017. Create your own team to compete as a group of friends or an organization or join a team already in place like San Diego State University’s Graduate School of Public Health!
