University City Community Association (UCCA) will host its first community meeting of 2017 at the Community Library, 4155 Governor Drive, on Wednesday, January 11 at 6 PM. All are welcome.
Per UCCA’s bylaws, the main purpose for which this non-profit (501C4) corporation is formed is to provide and promote the civic, cultural, social, educational and recreational development and improvement of University City; provide a forum where the interests of the residents may be expressed and contributions made to the protection of life and property in the community. The purpose is also to bring about civic betterment and social improvements for the community, encouraging a sense of community by organizing events and celebrations, as well as identifying issues or concerns of the population and providing a meeting place to discuss said issues or concerns.
Standard agenda items include updates from community and legislative leaders such as the Police and Fire departments and local elected leaders. In January, we are expecting to meet our new Community Service Police Officer and our new City Council University City representative. One of the special guests for the January meeting is from the San Diego Water Authority. And we anticipate an update on MCAS Miramar operations.
If you have an agenda item to suggest, you may email me directly at aherndiane@gmail.com or use the Contact Us link at https://www.universitycitynews.org/
Thanks for making University City more than a neighborhood.
Sincerely, Diane Ahern, UCCA Vice President
