It was standing room only as Barbara Bry, City Council member representing District 1, held a combined meet and greet/victory celebration at University City High School on Sunday, January 8.
Barbara was introduced by other newly elected officials California State Senator Toni Atkins, California State Assembly member Todd Gloria, City Councilmember Georgette Gómez (District 9), and City Attorney Mara Elliott.
After thanking her volunteers and introducing her staff, she reviewed her priorities, stating she will focus on ensuring a safe, clean and prosperous District and San Diego. These principles will guide her decision-making, she added.
She encouraged residents to volunteer for one of her three citizen councils focused on the needs of seniors, on small business, and on public safety. Bry stated she will meet with these groups 3 to 4 times a year to help her understand the concerns of the local community.
