San Diego County Supervisor Dave Roberts (pictured) was one of several legislative and community leaders attending the October University City Community Association (UCCA) meeting at the University Community Branch Library on Governor Drive Wednesday evening, October 19.
Supervisor Roberts addressed the crowd at UCCA’s October community meeting, answering residents’ questions; and highlighting the County’s commitment to fire safety and response, mental health services, increasing County open space areas, and reducing prescription drug abuse. Supervisor Roberts congratulated University City Community Association for its recognition as a Live Well San Diego partner. He also reminded the audience that the upcoming election mail-in ballot requires additional postage. He encouraged all to participate in the election process and referred to the San Diego County website at http://www.sandiegocounty.gov/.
Other community and legislative leaders addressing community questions and concerns included Police and Fire Department personnel, Council President Sherri Lightner, and representatives from Congressman Scott Peters, the City Attorney, and Speaker Toni Atkins.
Kyle Heiskala from City Council District 1 addressed concerns and comments about the amendment to the University Community Plan to remove the Regents Road Bridge and Genesee Avenue Widening projects from the Community Plan.
The November University Community Association meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 9, at the University Community Library, 4155 Governor Drive, at 6 PM.
