Fire/rescue team members from our local Squad 56 fast response team, based on Governor Drive, paid a surprise visit to our September UCCA meeting.
They asked us to spread the word about a safety request at their fire station house on Governor Drive.
Squad 56’s special vehicle is required to back into its drive-out position at the fire house station at 3034 Governor Drive so that it and the fire/rescue crew can quickly respond to a call for service.
Sometimes motorists driving west on Governor pass their truck while its emergency lights are flashing and they are turning the truck to back into their driveway.
The firefighters ask that drivers keep their safety in mind and do not pass their truck when its emergency lights are flashing.
UCCA asks that you please be aware and patient if such a circumstance occurs when you’re driving west on Governor Drive past the Squad 56 fire house.
