San Diego Unified School District will begin classes on August 29, a week earlier than the district’s traditional, post-Labor Day opening. Classes will end on June 14, 2017.
Starting school a week earlier was requested by parents and guardians and has been approved by the Board of Education. Benefits include better coordination with college applications; Advanced Placement, SAT, ACT and other college-level tests for high school students; and coordination with other districts in the region.
