Qi Gong – Every Monday @ 9:30 – 11:30 AM (except for July 4). Qi Gong (Chi Gong) is a simple preventative method of relaxing and harmonizing the body.

♫♫♫ Zumba for Special Needs and Beginners – Every Monday @ 1 – 2 PM (except for July 4). Led by Lis Garces, licensed Zumba® instructor since 2007.

Adult Yoga – Every Thursday @ 4 – 5 PM. Gentle exercises to aid flexibility and improve concentration. Bring your own mat or towel.

Chair Sit Yoga – July 5 and 19 @ 2 – 3 PM. Get fit where you sit! Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair or standing using a chair for support.

CERT Meeting – Tuesday, July 5 @ 6 PM. CERT educates individuals about disaster preparedness and response.

♫♫♫ Accordion Club – Saturday, July 9 & 23 @ 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM. All are welcome! Second and fourth Saturday of each month.

♫♫♫ Concert: Kathryn Cloward – Wednesday, July 6 @ 6:30 – 7:30 PM. Enjoy the transparent lyrical storytelling of Kathryn Cloward, with soulful melodies and engaging musical arrangements.

Dr. Who Day – Saturday, July 9 @ 1 PM. Join your fellow Whovians in celebration of your favorite Doctor. Come play with us!

UCCA University City Community Association – Wednesday, July 13 @ 6 – 7:30 PM. Community meeting featuring law enforcement, fire-rescue service, legislative and other community leaders. All are welcome.

Prostate Cancer – Thursday, July 14 @ 2 – 3 PM. Dr. Jason Woo, Urologist and Assistant Professor of Urology and Surgery at UCSD, will present on prostate cancer, screenings, and treatment. Get the latest information and bring your questions.

OASIS: Jewels in America’s Natural Crown – Tuesday, July 26 @ 2 – 4 PM. A visual travelogue of three of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring National Parks is brought to you with their creation, history and legacy. The stars of the show are Yellowstone, Yosemite and Crater Lake.

UC Book Club – Wednesday, July 27 @ 2 – 3 PM. The Book Club will be discussing To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee. This is an unforgettable novel of a childhood in a sleepy Southern town and the crisis of conscience that rocked it.

Events for Children

Preschool StoryTime for Kids – Every Thursday @ 10:30 – 11:30 AM. Join us for stories, crafts, finger plays and songs. July 28 storytime will be presented by the San Diego Symphony.

Makerspace Craft Station – All week long (Monday – Saturday). A different craft station is available in the Children’s Area each week.

Events for Tweens/Teens

Kendama Club – Every Wednesday @ 1:30 – 2:30 PM. Test your skills against others, learn new tricks and just have FUN!!!

Video Game Fridays – Every Friday @ 3 – 4 PM. Wii gaming with your friends, Get your game on!

Summer Reading Programs; Wednesdays at 2 PM and Fridays at 1 PM

Summer Reading Program Movies – Every Friday @ 1 – 3 PM. Join us for a children’s sports related movie to go along with this year’s theme Read – For the WIN! Call the library for details.

Literature Comes to Life – Wednesday, July 6 @ 2 – 3 PM. Dress up as one of your favorite storytime characters and shine in the spotlight while you retell a classic story!

Sparkles the Clown – Wednesday, July 13 @ 2 – 3 PM. Join us for a hilarious and whimsical show.

USA Jump Stars – Wednesday, July 20 @ 2 – 3 PM. Participants will be challenged in a variety of rope techniques, while building teamwork skills. All levels welcome!

Mad Science – Wednesday, July 27 @ 2 – 3 PM. Experiments are made fun by Mad Science’s style of delivering unique, hands-on experience which is both entertaining and educational.
