Doyle’s Butterfly Garden enters Chrysalis Stage

Share

Courtesy of Deanna Ratnikova and Maxim Ratnikov:

The Doyle Community Park and Recreation Council presents the most recent photos from their butterfly garden. The black and yellow caterpillars that were once munching on milkweed have each formed a chrysalis.

From an outsider’s viewpoint, nothing seems to be happening, but inside the chrysalis, a remarkable transformation (metamorphosis) is taking place. A beautiful monarch butterfly will soon emerge and start a new life cycle.

The photo album also includes a shot of a photogenic snail enjoying the weather after a weekend rain.
