EdUCate!’s Taste of the Triangle features Monte Carlo theme

Courtesy of EdUCate!, the nonprofit foundation established in 1993 with the goal of providing supplemental funds to all five University City public schools:

Taste of the Triangle 2016UCSD Faculty Club will be transformed Friday, May 6, 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM during the Taste of the Triangle.

New this year is an exciting Monte Carlo theme! Enjoy food from great local restaurants, casino-style card games such as Pai Gow, Baccarat, 3-Card Poker, Let It Ride, and Texas Hold ‘Em, silent auction/raffle, live entertainment, and evening VIP attendees will be entertained by TV personality and UC’s own Fred Saxon.

Plus they will get special insight into the high stakes poker world from special guest Richard Lederer, father to world renowned poker players Annie Duke and Howard Lederer, who will share his own poker playing secrets. Richard Lederer will also be hosting two special sessions for beginner and intermediate players during the event. Sign-up on the website to reserve your spot, limited seats available.

Participating restaurants are: Ahi Sushi & Grill, Boudin Bakery, Corner Bakery Café, Crossroads Deli, Dan Diego’s Euro Café and Pub, Eureka!, French Gourmet, Green Acre, Leucadia Pizzaria & Italian Restaurant, Native Foods, Nine-Ten, Outcast Grill, Premier La Jolla, Rock Bottom Brewery, Specialty’s Bakery and Café, UCHS Culinary Club, and Veggie Grill.

Tickets go on sale April 1 at www.uc-educate.org. Prices are $75 in advance, $85 at the door; UC Cluster teachers and staff are $50 in advance, $60 at the door.

If you cannot attend the event, please consider sponsoring a teacher or donate to our general fund. Donation help offset the cost of putting on this volunteer-run event.
