We are trying to regenerate the CERT program in and around University City.

CERT is ‘Firefighters and Citizens Working Together to Build Safer Communities’.

We would like any current or past CERT members, neighbors, friends and anyone interested in helping your neighbors in a state of emergency as was done during the San Diego fires.

Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings, please bring your go bag to the meeting if you have one, we will do a little comparison of bags and get ideas. For those who don’t have a bag yet, this is a good visual of what you should or may want in your bags.

We will also cover Utility shut-offs and Fire Fighting pages R-5 & 6 in the Yellow CERT guide book for this meeting.

For more information on CERT, visit http://www.sandiego.gov/fire/services/cert/

Next meeting: Tuesday,  April 5, 6 – 7:30 PM, at the University Community Library on Governor, 4155 Governor Dr, San Diego, CA 92122

Mike and Doris Lawson have been involved in CERT since 2010. In San Diego, CERT was activated by the San Diego Fire Department after the 2007 fires.
