Updated Buy Local LogoThis month, UCCA welcomes three new Buy Local participants.

Costa Verde Center, at Genesee and Nobel, is about to undergo a transformation to better serve the University City community. Their vision is to create a beautiful, high quality, walkable environment with direct connections to the future Mid-Coast Trolley Station. Improvements include better parking and traffic circulation, outdoor gathering spaces, more shops and restaurants, and a sustainable design. For more information about existing shops and restaurants, and to view current specials, visit their website at www.costaverdecenter.com.

Footwear etc., located at 3310 Governor Drive, near Sprouts, offers comfortable and fashionable footwear from around the world. Their store carries well-known brands and features trendy and comfortable boots, clogs, sneakers, flats and sandals. Footwear etc. is hosting an Open House on Tuesday, April 19, from 5 – 7 PM at which they will give the first 25 UCCA members who show up a $20 coupon on a purchase of $100 or more. Be sure to bring your UCCA membership card. For more information, visit their website at www.footwearetc.com or check the Buy Local page on UCCA’s website.

UTC Certified Farmers Market, on Regents Road south of Arriba Street and just north of Rose Canyon, operating every Thursday, rain or shine, from 3-7 PM, is a leader in an innovative Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. CSA creates a unique opportunity to support local farmers and get a fresh box of local produce each week where everything is grown without pesticides or herbicides. UTC Farmers Market is offering UCCA members $10 in ‘market bucks’ to those who enroll in CSA.
