The jump from two candidates to five increases the odds of a November runoff in the battle to represent La Jolla and other north coastal communities, which analysts say could help Democrats retain their 5-4 majority on the council.
Announced candidates include:
- Barbara Bry
- Ray Ellis
- Kyle Heiskala
- Bruce Lightner
- Louis Rodolico
