University City High School Parent Teacher Student Association (UCHS PTSA) is very excited to pair up with Richard Lederer, our locally-based and famous linguist, author, and columnist, to raise funds for our seniors’ Grad Nite this spring. We encourage you to attend and bring family and friends with you!

We’ve planned two events with Richard Lederer on Thursday, February 11, both in the UCHS Auditorium.

4:30 PM, Fascinating Facts about our Presidents: Union-Tribune history quizmaster Richard Lederer will offer a treasury of insights into the feats, fates, families, foibles, and firsts of our American presidents, including the patterns of their elections.

6:30 PM, Language and Laughter: Union-Tribune language columnist Richard Lederer, author of Anguished English, will take you on a joy ride through the glories and oddities of our marvelous English language, in which your nose can run and your feet can smell.

There will be a potluck in between the two events in the Media Center. Richard tells us he loves potlucks. He is a very social person, so for anyone who’d like to meet him in person, chat with him, or have their books signed by him, this is a great opportunity to “hang out” with this famous author and linguist.

Also planned is an auction, a book sale and a book signing. Check out the attached flyer for more details. Please come to one or both of the events, and if you come to the potluck, bring something interesting to eat or drink. And please tell others about this event!

Because of Richard’s generosity, all funds raised from ticket sales will go directly to UCHS PTSA Grad Nite!

Tickets are available at the door; but if you register and pre-pay by February 9 at the Special Events tab at http://uchsptsa.org/, you’ll receive a discount. Ticket prices increase on February 10.
