Share

From North County Transit District:

COASTER-Rail-Closure-Jan-2016Rail service interruptions are scheduled for the weekends of January 9-10, 16-17, and 23-24 along the coastal rail corridor from Oceanside to San Diego because of rail construction.

On Friday nights, 1/8, 1/15, and 1/22 Amtrak train 796 will terminate at Oceanside and not travel any further southbound.

During January, on the weekends mentioned, there will be

  • regular Metrolink service;
  • no COASTER service;
  • no Amtrak train service between Oceanside and San Diego (including 6 Rail-2-Rail trains). Regular service north of Oceanside. Amtrak will provide bus service for Amtrak passengers only between Oceanside and San Diego.

Customers are urged to plan ahead to take other forms of transportation during this service interruption due to rail construction. There will be no replacement bus service connecting to COASTER station stops. Alternatives for passengers who normally use the COASTER include BREEZE bus route 101 or MTS connections.

The rail will re-open for regularly scheduled COASTER and all other rail service in time for the morning commute on Mondays.
