Do you have a Neighborhood Watch sign on your street? If you can’t see one from your house, then you may not be connected to University City’s Neighborhood Watch Network.
Chabad Center of University City is hosting a Neighborhood Watch meeting for all University City residents who are not yet part of a Neighborhood Watch group, and for anyone who would like a review of current crime prevention strategies, on Thursday, January 14, 5 PM, at the Chabad Center of UC, 3813 Governor Drive, University City.
Featured speakers will be Community Liaison Officer Holly Tafoya with the San Diego Police Department, Block Captain Diane Ahern, and Barbara Gellman, University City’s Neighborhood Watch Coordinator.
Topics of discussion will include burglaries, auto break-ins and thefts, noise problems, solicitors, scams and any other concern in the neighborhood.
Chabad Center of UC will provide light refreshments. All are invited and welcome. Plenty of free street parking and in parking lot behind the Center accessible on Radcliffe Drive.
Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program that enlists the active participation of residents in cooperation with the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) to reduce crime, solve problems, and improve the quality of life in your area.
You will get to know your neighbors, and learn how to recognize and report crimes and suspicious activities, protect yourself, your family, and your property, protect your neighbor’s family and property, and identify crime and disorder problems in your area and work with SDPD personnel to solve them.
